Bay Area (Spring 2013)

It's hard to define where "Home" is these days. But whenever we go back to the Bay Area, everything just seems to feel right. Familiar faces and places --nothing beats going back to a place you truly love.

Some of the highlights of our trip include...

1. Jianna. Seeing and finally being able to hold our adorable four-month old niece after missing out for so long. A baby's scent is just... heaven! Our limited time spent with her will never be enough, but we'll take what we can get (for now, at least). Until we meet again, Baby Girl!

2. Food Food Food! Finally being able to eat delicious Asian food again. That's one huge thing California offers that Arizona simply doesn't have enough of --the diversity of culture and availability of good, international food. So we had bottomless Korean Barbecue with friends for dinner last Saturday and it was to die for! Then, we had a big Filipino lunch on Sunday. Of course, we were able to grab a stash of Filipino groceries from the International Market before finally heading back to Prescott. I guess I really just miss living in a place that's more diverse.

3. "The Kitchen Sink!" So a few of our friends thought it would be a good idea to head over to the San Francisco Creamery and take on The Kitchen Sink Challenge (as featured on the show, Man Vs. Food). Basically, it's 8 huge scoops of ice cream, 8++ different toppings and one has to finish it in an hour. We didn't really go that far as to finish a whole bad boy by ourselves. We divided into three groups with at least 6 people in each cluster. But it was far too crazy for most of us to accomplish the task. It was loads and loads of memorable fun though.

4. Family Sunday. To spend time with family and fellowship together --first, we all went to Church, had a big lunch, and then watched a movie (Oz -The Great and Powerful). It's seemingly ordinary events like these that we really miss the most. You never know how much you'd miss the people around you until you have to move away from them. Then, you just long for these routines --these seemingly mundane, but oh so special days that build up in your memories.

5. Simply being able to spend time and catching up with FAMILY and FRIENDS... now, nothing beats that! Need I say more?

So now we're back in ol' small town Prescott. It's kind of a bummer to be so far away from people and everything else that you love. But life is here FOR NOW. One of these days, all these things will hopefully come together. For now, I'm just glad we had those few days to take off and go back. Until next time. See 'ya later, our City by the Bay!

P.S. Did I mention that I accidentally had a drastic haircut? Oh well! Time for a CHANGE, I guess.
